WHAT WE ARE OFFERING:
Join Dr Holly Christy for an overview of Fascial Counterstrain as a powerful tool for healing the nervous system, especially for those with trauma and PTSD. Counterstrain is a non-invasive, hands-on therapeutic technique that is unlike other types of physical medicine and physical therapy. It acknowledges the body’s innate intelligence to maintain function despite trauma, both physical and emotional. Counterstrain integrates with other treatments such as psychotherapy, acupuncture, nutrition, and naturopathic medicine to restore physical and psychological health. This modality is a powerful example of how trauma lives in the body, and can be released from the body using manual techniques.

WHY:
Dr Christy explains her passion for educating others about CounterStrain and its potential to help heal trauma from the inside out using manual therapy techniques: “Of all the modalities I’ve been exposed to in my career, Counterstrain is the most evolved and astoundingly powerful. Counterstrain is based in science and applied anatomy, and through it, we are able to reach inside the body and restore function with very little effort. One patient described it as ‘invisible surgery’ – an apt description for this outstanding technique.”
